Terms of service.
The rules of the game, written to be understood in a single read. If anything feels confusing or unfair, email us — we change it.
Effective May 24, 2026
These terms govern your use of Harvard Resume (the "Service"), a Harvard-format CV editor operated by Harvard Resume from Santiago, Chile ("we," "us"). By using the Service you accept these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
- 01
Acceptance of terms
By creating an account, purchasing a plan, or just using the editor as a guest, you confirm you've read and accepted these terms. If you accept them on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind it.
- 02
What the Service is
Harvard Resume lets you compose a CV in the format published by Harvard University's Office of Career Services, preview it live in your browser, download a watermarked PDF for free, and download a clean (watermark-free) PDF if you purchase a plan.
The editor works without an account for guests. Subscriptions and one-time purchases require magic-link authentication (no password, just email).
- 03
Account and access
You are responsible for keeping control of the email tied to your account. If you lose access to that inbox, we lose the only way to identify you — email us before that happens if you need to migrate.
You can delete your account and all associated data from your dashboard with one click. Deletion is final and irreversible (except for legally required records such as invoices).
- 04
Pricing, plans, and payments
Three plans, all in USD, all processed by Stripe. No hidden trials, no surprise charges.
One-time — USD 3.99
Grants you a clean download of the CV as it stood at the time of purchase. You can keep editing and download new versions, but the canonical watermark-free PDF is the one you downloaded.
Monthly — USD 9.99 / month
Unlimited clean downloads, up to 10 saved versions, auto-renews each month on your subscription date until you cancel.
Annual — USD 39 / year
Equivalent to USD 3.25 per month. Same access as monthly + early access to new templates. Auto-renews each year.
Prices may change for new purchases; active plans keep the price you paid until next renewal. Applicable taxes are added at checkout if relevant to your jurisdiction.
- 05
Refund policy
One-time: full refund within 24 hours of purchase, no questions asked. After 24 hours, no refund, but you keep your download.
Monthly subscription: you can cancel renewal at any time from the Stripe portal linked in your dashboard. What's already been charged is not refunded, but you keep access until the end of the paid period.
Annual subscription: full refund within the first 30 days. After 30 days the monthly rule applies (cancel renewal, keep access until period ends).
To request a refund, email hola@harvard-resume.com with your account email and payment ID (shown on your Stripe receipt). We process within 5 business days.
- 06
Your content stays yours
The CV content you write in the editor — text, dates, institutions, descriptions — is 100% yours. We claim no rights over it, do not use it to train AI models, and do not share it with third parties (except payment/storage processors strictly necessary to operate the Service).
You grant us a limited, revocable license to store, process, and render your content as a PDF while you are a user. When you delete your account that license terminates and we delete the data.
- 07
Intellectual property and marks
The code, design, copy, templates, and software of Harvard Resume are our property and are protected by copyright. You may not copy, redistribute, or resell the Service without written authorization.
Harvard, Harvard University, and related marks are property of The President and Fellows of Harvard College. We are not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Harvard University. The name "Harvard Resume" and references to the "Harvard format" are descriptive nominative use of a public layout convention. Full details on our About page.
- 08
Acceptable use
While using the Service you must not:
- Automated scraping of the site, the editor, or the examples.
- Reselling the Service, sublicensing it, or sharing your account with third parties to evade pricing.
- Uploading illegal, defamatory, or rights-infringing content.
- Attempting to exploit vulnerabilities, bypass the watermark system, or access resources that aren't yours.
- Using the email system (magic-links, receipts) for spam or phishing.
Violations may result in immediate suspension without refund.
- 09
No warranties
The Service is provided "as is." We do not guarantee that you'll land a job, that you'll pass a specific ATS, or that any particular recruiter will give you an interview. The Harvard format is a proven tool — the outcome also depends on your content and the market.
We do not guarantee 100% uptime: we do occasional maintenance and depend on third parties (Supabase, Stripe, AWS, Vercel) that occasionally have incidents.
- 10
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, our total aggregate liability for any claim related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months prior to the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect damages, lost profits, or lost job opportunities. Consumer protection laws of your jurisdiction may grant you additional rights this clause does not limit.
- 11
Changes to service or terms
We may update the Service, add features, deprecate others, or adjust pricing. For active subscribers, price changes apply at next renewal, not retroactively.
Material changes to these terms are notified by email (subscribers) or by a banner on the site (guests) at least 14 days in advance. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
- 12
Termination
You may terminate your use of the Service at any time by deleting your account. We may terminate or suspend your access if you violate these terms, with a prorated refund of the unused period if the termination was not due to a cause attributable to you.
- 13
Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Chile. Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably will be submitted to the ordinary courts of Santiago, Chile, without prejudice to the inalienable rights granted to you by the consumer protection laws of your domicile.
